#1. Important notes
- Megaton is not responsible for any
damages caused by Speedtrax.
- Speedtrax is free, that means all
graphics, sound, music, etc can be used for you Duke3d projects.
- Speedtrax is design for use without
jump or crouch buttons. This could not be modified.
- Reasons for Speedtrax incompletion are,:
- I have run out of time. I tried to sqeeze
some work into my spare time, but it becomes too stressfull. I can't put it on hold for a
month 'cos nobody wants to wait for Speedtrax so long.
- The bonus nukebutton has errors which is
strongly needed for the level selection map. ( nukebutton pal 14 lotag 1-11 goes ,randomly
,to E1L9 or E1L1 on second use )
- The Native doesn't respond to "ifp
pwalking or running"

#4. Map tutorial
Special Icon description:
- "Startline" - counts laps with
help from "Lapcheck".
- "Lapcheck" - is a checkpoint the
player must pass before a new lap is counted.
- "TimeAttack" - starts and stops
the timeattack counter.
- "Checkpoint" - adds 20 to the
counter.
- "Speedboost" - like the item it
gives super speed.
- "Counter" - Starts a second
counter counting tracktime.
- "RemoteCon" - set at beginning for
Remote Control cars racing.
- "Knockout" - set at every
startpoint to give 4 stars.
- "M2" - (musiccontroller) specific
spritepal chooses music.
- "S2" - (sectoreffector2) spritepal
coded.
- S2 [color 0] - makes random creaking sound
'for bridges'.
- S2 [color 1] - at player close distance
sounds hi crowd cheer.
- S2 [color 2] - at player close distance
sounds lo crowd cheer.
Interactive characters:
- Gasply the Ghost - flys around haunting
players.
- Native - Throws a spear at the player once
and runs away when chased by player.
Time Attack:
- These levels are single player intented.
- Weapons cannot be put into the levels
because the player's energy is used for the counter and the weapons kill the player and
revive him, which would result in infinite time.
- One icon is required for this to work -
"TIMEATTACK"
- Inserting the "COUNTER" icon with
enable the time counting.
- Stars add 2 to the timer.
Multiplayer Trax:
- These levels are multiplayer only.
- Timeattack won't work here.
- This game requires 2 icons to work
"STARTLINE" and "LAPCHECK"
- Put the "Startwall" at the
beginning to set simultaneous race start.
- Try to arrange the weapons well so that one
player won't get the advantage over another, ex,: only one "speedboost" will
send one player too far ahead.
Knockout:
- Knockout are only multiplayer.
- Put a "KNOCKOUT" icon at each
spawn point so that each player will receive their four stars.
- Arrange the weapons and the level well to
avoid making camping areas.
Remote Control:
- Insert the "REMOTE CONTROL" icon
at the beginning.
- Use "STARTLINE",
"LAPCHECK" & "Startwall" like in Multiplayer Trax.
- Weapons do not work here.
